Threat Towards Police on Twitter Results in Arrest
On 1/24/15 the Riverside Township Police were alerted
through their Twitter account that a user of the social media tool sent out a threatening
message of violence directed at the Riverside Township Police. As a
result of this threat of violence towards law enforcement, a state-wide alert
was sent out and numerous agencies became involved with the
investigation. Through the investigation, a suspect was developed,
located and charged. He was identified as a juvenile male resident of
Riverside Township. He was charged with Terroristic Threats and released
to the custody of his parents pending juvenile court.
Any threats of violence towards law enforcement will not be
tolerated and will be thoroughly investigated. Any persons, adult or
juvenile, found responsible for directing violent threats towards law
enforcement will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
