Seatbelt Violation Leads to Wanted Person Arrest
On November 12 at approximately 9:30 PM, the Riverside Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle for operating the wrong way on a one way street. While speaking to the driver, the officer observed the two rear passengers to be seated without wearing seatbelts. The officer asked both men for their identification and neither subject complied. They then both provided false information regarding their identities to the officers at the scene. After a brief investigation, it was determined that one of the passengers was Tiago A. Desouza (9/27/81), formerly of Riverside, NJ. Desouza was found to be an NCIC Wanted Person for criminal offenses of Unlawful Possession of A Weapon and Obstructing the Administration of Law stemming from an incident in July 2017. He also had an outstanding criminal warrant for his arrest out of Willingboro Township for Obstructing the Administration of Law. Desouza was arrested and charged with Hindering Apprehension and he was then lodged at Burlington County Jail on a 'no bail' commit. The second subject was identified as Rafael Marciano Da Silva, 19 yrs, of Edgewater Park, NJ. He was also charged with Hindering Apprehension and he was released pending court.
