Two Crashes, One Sleeping Driver: 3 DWI Arrests

 On January 16, 2022 at approximately 12:18 am, the Riverside Police were notified by a pedestrian that a vehicle had veered onto the NJ Light Rail tracks and was inoperable.  Officers arrived to find the vehicle wedged between the berm and the southbound tracks with front end damage.  The driver, Angel Montano Ramon, 23 years, of Maple Shade, NJ, was standing alongside the car.  As a result of the investigation, Ramon was found to be an unlicensed driver and suspected of being under the influence of alcohol.  He was arrested, processed at the Riverside Police Department for Driving while Intoxicated, Driving while Unlicensed, and released pending a court appearance. 

Just over two hours later, at approximately 2:41 am, the Riverside Police were dispatched for a report of an unconscious male in the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle parked in the middle of Lafayette St at Fairview St.  Officers arrived to find the vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway, and woke the driver, Elizio Silva Santana, 39 years, of Delran, NJ.  As a result of the investigation, Silva-Santana was found to be an unlicensed driver and suspected of being under the influence of alcohol.  He was arrested, processed at the Riverside Police Department for Driving while Intoxicated, Driving while Unlicensed and Refusal to Consent to Breath Samples.  He was released pending a court appearance. 


Approximately four hours later, around 6:44 am, the Riverside Police were, again, dispatched out for the report of a motor vehicle accident.  A caller reported a vehicle struck a utility pole along Hancock Street and the driver was attempting to leave the scene.  Upon arrival, officers observed a silver Chevy sedan up against a utility pole with front end damage.  The driver, Edwin Tenecela, 25 years of Riverside, NJ, was still sitting in the driver’s seat with a minor scratch to his face.  As a result of the investigation, Tenecela was found to be an unlicensed driver and suspected of being under the influence of alcohol.  He was arrested, processed at the Riverside Police Department for Driving while Intoxicated, Driving while Unlicensed, Refusal to Consent to Breath Samples and Open Container of Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle.   He was released pending a court appearance.
