Disorderly Male Arrested Twice within Two Hours

This past Friday morning, patrol officers with the Riverside Township Police noticed an unconscious male sitting on a bench on the New Jersey Light Rail platform.  Officers immediately attempted to provide assistance and approached him.  They were able to wake the male, who then became irate and yelled and cursed at officers.  While attempting to calm him down, the officers observed an open, partially consumed bottle of Hennessy liquor on the bench next to him.  Officers attempted to divert him to EMS for evaluation but were unsuccessful.  When the ambulance arrived, he cursed and yelled at EMTs and he refused their services.  He then continued to curse and yell at police and refused to identify himself.  The officers had to take the disorderly male into custody and transport him to the police station where he was identified as Dontae L. Thomas, 37 yrs, of Camden, NJ.  Thomas was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Obstructing the Administration of Law, Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol in Public and Sleeping in Public.  He was released with a pending court date.

Immediately after his release, Thomas entered the MetroPCS Wireless store on Scott St directly across from the police department where he started an argument with the store clerk.  He yelled, cursed and threatened the store clerk and spit on the floor.  He then exited the store, spit on the exterior window, and continued his disorderly behavior on the street.  Riverside Officers were summoned and responded.  Officers attempted to calm Thomas down to no avail, as he continued to yell, curse and wave his arms at officers in the presence of numerous pedestrians, including children.  Thomas had to be taken into custody for a 2nd time and was escorted back into the police station.  He was charged with Disorderly Conduct, processed and transported to Burlington County Jail pending a court hearing.
