Trespassers Arrested after Wandering into Riverside Homes

At approximately 3:24 am, this past Saturday, the Riverside Police were dispatched to a residence on Madison Street for the report of an unknown male inside the house.  While en route, the caller reported that the male entered his family’s house, used their bathroom and then walked into his mother’s bedroom.  The caller heard his mother scream and saw a male run from her room and out of the house.  Riverside officers quickly responded and located a male running from the house.  The officers chased him on foot and found him hiding behind a trash can in a side yard.  When ordered to come out, the suspect charged at officers and was quickly taken into custody.

The male was identified as Glenn Daly, Jr, 22 yrs, of Delran, NJ.  Daly, who was found to be intoxicated, told police that he thought the residence belonged to his friend and that he was going to sleep there.  Daly was charged with Criminal Trespass, Obstructing the Administration of Law, and Resisting Arrest by Flight and released pending court.

At approximately 1:52 am on the following night, the Riverside Police were, again, dispatched for the report of an unknown male inside of a house.  Officers arrived at the residence on Lippincott Avenue to find the homeowner restraining the male suspect on the front lawn.  The homeowner stated that he was sitting in his living room, when he observed the intoxicated male walk in through the side door and attempt to walk into his basement.  Riverside officers then arrived and quickly took the trespasser into custody.

The male was identified as Steven Martins, 33 yrs, of Riverside, NJ.  Martins allegedly told the homeowner that he was moving into his basement.  Martins was charged with Criminal Trespass and released pending court.
