STOLEN FIREARM, NARCOTICS UNCOVERED AFTER ASSAULT INVESTIGATION

A WARRANT for the arrest of David C. Vann has been issued

On August 26, 2022, the Riverside Police were assisting another law enforcement agency with locating a suspect wanted for an aggravated assault.  A Riverside Detective spotted the suspect, David C. Vann, 27 years, of Roebling, NJ, operating a vehicle within the Township of Riverside.  The Riverside officer made contact with Vann and he was arrested and turned over to that other agency. 

A secondary investigation ensued involving the vehicle that Vann was operating.  That investigation led to the vehicle being impounded and a search warrant being executed.   As a result of that search, Riverside Detectives located a STOLEN firearm, armor-piercing ammunition, a distribution-size quantity of marijuana, numerous types of pills categorized as controlled dangerous substances and a large quantity of U.S. currency within the vehicle.

Vann was subsequently charged with:

2C:39-5B(1) Unlawful Possession of a handgun (2nd degree)

2C:39-4.1  Possession of a Firearm while Possessing with Intent to Distrubute (2nd degree)

2C:39-4A(1) Possession of as handgun for an unlawful purpose (2nd degree)

2C:35-7.1  Possession w/ intent to Distribute within 500 ft of a public park (2nd degree)

2C:35-10A(1) Possession of CDS (3rd degree)

2C:35-5B(11)(B) Possession with the intent to distribute marijuana (3rd degree)

2C:35-10.5A(3) Posses or distribute prescription legend drug (3rd degree)

2C:20-7A Receiving stolen property (3rd degree)

2C:35-7 Possession w/ Intent to Distribute within 1000 ft of a school (3rd degree)

2C:39-3F(1) Possession of hollow nose ammunition (4th degree)

Vann had already been released at the time of the search warrant execution and a WARRANT for his ARREST has been issued. 

He is described as a tall, 6’11” thin, black male about 200-220lbs w/ a beard and gauge earrings.
