On the morning of November 26, 2022, a resident along Carroll St reported to police that a pair of shoes were stolen from the front porch of their residence.  A suspect was developed from nearby surveillance video.  On the evening of November 30, 2022, a Riverside officer located a suspect matching the description in the video standing on the NJ Light Rail platform.  The suspect was also wearing shoes similar to those stolen.  The officer stopped the suspect and attempted to identify him.  The suspect lied to police about his identity.  The shoes on his feet were identified as the shoes stolen four days earlier.  The suspect was eventually identified as Jonathon A. Wheeler, 36 yrs, of Mt. Holly, NJ.  Wheeler was found to have several outstanding warrants for his arrest, including an out of state WANTED person hit in Pennsylvania for forgery.  Wheeler was taken into custody.

During processing, Wheeler became combative, threatened police and refused to allow officers to process him.  While en route to the Burlington County Correctional Facility, he continued to threaten, physically resist and kicked one of the officers in the chest.
