Unlicensed Rider Eludes Police on Dirtbike
The
rider was subsequently located, arrested and his bike seized
Riverside – This past weekend, the Riverside Police were on patrol when an officer observed a man illegally operating an unregistered dirt bike on the streets of Riverside in a reckless manner. The officer was able to briefly get the attention of the rider and told him to stop. The rider then sped off, ignoring the officer’s commands. As the suspect sped off, the officer saw a group of bicycle riders swerve off the roadway in order to avoid being struck by the illegal dirt bike. The suspect was also observed riding through a stop sign and up onto the sidewalk at a high rate of speed.
Several other officers responded to the area in attempt to locate the eluding dirt bike rider. The police were able to locate him along Fillmore St where he was stopped. During the investigation, the rider gave officers false information about his name and age. He was eventually identified as Alex Aucay Tenecela, 18 yrs, of Riverside, NJ. He was found to not have a driver’s license. The bike did not comply with standards to allow it to be a registered vehicle, nor was it insured. Tenecela was placed under arrest and his dirt bike was seized. The illegal road bike was submitted for forfeiture, to be permanently seized from the owner.
Tenecela was charged with:
Eluding a Law Enforcement Officer (3rd degree)
Hindering One’s Own Apprehension (4th degree)
Obstructing the Administration of Law (4th degree)
Operating without a License
Uninsured Vehicle
Unregistered Off-Road Vehicle on the Roadway
… and several other motor vehicle violations.
