Car Burglary Investigation Leads to Arrest


In the early morning hours of 7/25/24 police were dispatched to the area of 2nd Street for a report of a suspicious person.  Police were unable to locate the subject, and the following morning a vehicle burglary was reported in the area.  Riverside Police investigating the burglary identified the suspect as Gilbert Ferguson, 44 of Lindenwold, NJ.

On 7/27/2024, a New Jersey Transit Police Officer observed Ferguson at the Walter Rand Station in Camden and took him into custody on multiple warrants.  Mr. Ferguson was turned over to Riverside Police and transported to the Riverside Police Station for processing.  During processing, he was found to be in possession of proceeds from a car burglary in Cherry Hill on 7/26/24.  Ferguson was lodged in Burlington County Jail on the following charges:

  • Burglary
  • Credit Card Theft
  • Receiving Stolen Property
  • Theft
