Wanted Person Arrested with Loaded Handgun

On 7/30/2024, Riverside Police were in search of a subject, Clyde Deshields.  Deshields, 44 of Riverside, was wanted for Aggravated Assault. Officers patrolling the area located the subject in the area of Krauszers Food Mart. Police attempted to stop him and he fled into the Krauszers Food Mart to avoid police. Police followed the subject into the store where he continued to disregard orders to stop. Officers quickly apprehended the subject who was attempting to gain access into a shoulder bag that he was carrying. Police took him into custody and located a loaded handgun inside the bag. 

Deshields was processed and lodged into Burlington County Jail on the following charges:

·         Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (handgun)

·         Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (handgun)

·         Certain Person not to Possess a Firearm

·         Resisting Arrest

·         Obstruction of Justice
