Park Patrol Leads to Firearm Arrest




On August 12, 2024, at approximately 9:31 PM, Riverside Township Police 
observed an individual in Spring Garden Park after the posted park hours. The male, later identified as Anthony Bridges, 24, of Riverside, was near a children’s playset when he noticed the approaching patrol vehicle and began walking toward Spring Garden Street.

Officers conducted a pedestrian stop on Bridges. During the encounter, it was determined that Bridges had an active outstanding arrest warrant. Officers took Bridges into custody. A search of the suspect revealed a loaded 9mm handgun with an illegal 24-round high capacity magazine. The magazine contained hollow point ammunition. 

Bridges was processed and charged with the following offenses:

Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (2nd degree)

Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose without a Permit (2nd degree)

Large Capacity Magazine (4th degree)

Possession of Hollow Point Ammunition (4th degree)

Violation of Local Ordinance - Park After Hours

Bridges was lodged in Burlington County Jail.
