Security Guard Arrested After Brandishing Handgun Outside of Bar
At approximately 1:37 a.m. this morning a Riverside Police Officer on patrol observed a disturbance in front of La Patrona bar on Pavillion Ave. The officer observed a subject that appeared to be a security guard pointing a firearm at someone. The officer got out of his vehicle and attempted to detain the suspect. Shortly thereafter the suspect ran away from the officer. While engaged in the foot pursuit the suspect threw a firearm under a parked car. The suspect, who was working .as a security guard for La Patrona, was apprehended. The firearm was recovered and found to be a "ghost gun," or un-serialized gun made of separate components. The security guard was not authorized to possess or carry the weapon as a civilian or as part of his employment. The suspect, Luis Guillermo Miranda-Colon, 24 of Camden, NJ was lodged in Burlington County Jail and charged with the following offenses:
- Aggravated Assault with a Weapon
- Possession of a Firearm Without a Serial Number
- Unlawful Possession of a Handgun
- Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose
- Resisting Arrest
- Obstruction
