Car Theft Suspect Arrested

On 01/29/2025, at 4:43 am, Riverside Police were dispatched to the 500 block of Taylor Street for the report of a theft of a 2009 Honda Civic. A thorough investigation was conducted by Riverside Detectives, and it was determined that the person that had sold the vehicle to the victim had returned to steal it.  Riverside Detectives prepared a warrant for the arrest of Pedro Almonte Gomez, 19, of Camden City.

On 04/26/2025, at approximately 1430 hours, an officer on patrol for the Butler Township Pennsylvania Police Department received a mobile computer notification of a “wanted person’s” vehicle driving near him. The officer stopped the suspect vehicle.  A vehicle that was travelling just in front of the suspect vehicle also pulled over. The lead vehicle was operated by Pedro Almonte Gomez.   He was taken into custody and is currently housed at Luzerne County Prison awaiting extradition back to New Jersey.
