Riverside Township Committee Names "Officer of the Quarter"

Ptl. Nicholas Strough was honored tonight by the Riverside Township Committee.  Mayor Gary Haman, along with members of the Riverside Township Committee, presented the “Officer of the Quarter” award to Ptl. Strough for his continued outstanding dedication to the Township of Riverside.  Ptl. Strough was one of the top-performing officers in 2024 both on and off the road, and has continued to demonstrate that same outstanding work ethic and dedication to Riverside Township into the first quarter of 2025. 

Beyond his patrol duties, Ptl. Strough regularly participates in the township’s numerous community events, often volunteering his own time, and he consistently interacts with residents, fostering positive police-community relations.  He is the department’s Vehicle Maintenance Officer, Radio Maintenance Officer, an Emergency Medical Technician, and the department’s first-ever Drone Operator.  For his all-around excellent performance in 2024, Ptl. Strough was named the Riverside Township Police Officer of the Year.
