Expired Vehicle Registration Leads to Large Weapons Seizure

On the morning of Thursday, July 16, at approximately 2:07 a.m., Riverside Township Patrol Officers initiated a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle due to expired registration. Upon making contact, the driver refused to provide identification or any vehicle documentation. The individual was subsequently identified as Dante C. Alexander, 33 yrs of age and a resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Further investigation led to the discovery of a substantial quantity of weapons and ammunition within the vehicle. Officers seized one semi-automatic rifle, two semi-automatic handguns, a pepper-ball handgun, a pellet handgun, seven knives, an expandable baton, two cans of OC (oleoresin capsicum) spray, fourteen illegal high-capacity magazines, a body armor vest, and over 200 rounds of ammunition.  All of the firearms recovered were found to be fully loaded.  

Alexander was placed under arrest, processed, and transported to the Burlington County Correctional Facility, where he is awaiting a detention hearing.

This substantial seizure demonstrates the dedication and vigilance of our patrol officers in performing their duties as they work to protect our residents of Riverside Township.  We deeply appreciate the support from our community that allows us to protect and serve.
