Assault Investigation Leads to Arrest

Riverside Township, NJ — The Riverside Township Police Department announces the arrest of Victor Marcelo Ferreira Dias, 29 yrs, in connection with a sexual assault that was reported this past October.  The crime occurred several years ago when the victim was a juvenile. Thanks to the diligent investigative efforts of the Riverside Township Detective Bureau, the suspect was identified, located, and arrested yesterday outside his home in Riverton.  The Riverton Borough Police Department assisted with the arrest of this suspect.  Dias is currently lodged at the Burlington County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing.

In coordination with the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office, Dias was charged with:

  • Two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault (1st Degree)
  • One count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (3rd Degree)

Most importantly, we recognize the outstanding efforts of our officers, whose thorough investigation and persistence led to this apprehension.
