Officer Griffin Honored by Township Committee

Riverside Township Police
Riverside, NJ

Riverside Patrolman Brendon Griffin was awarded a proclamation from the Riverside Township Committee last night for his actions over the past five years as the School Resource Officer for the Riverside K-12 Schools.  Throughout his time assigned to the schools, Ptl. Griffin has demonstrated professionalism, dedication, and genuine care for the students and staff of our schools. He plays a vital role in maintaining the safety and security of more than 1,700 students and employees while addressing student conduct and safety concerns.

Ptl. Griffin has taken on several leadership roles at the schools.  As the leader of the Police Explorer Program, he mentors students interested in law enforcement, offering structure, hands-on training, and personal guidance. His dedication further extends into the classroom through the LEADS program, where he partners with educators to help students make safe, healthy, and responsible life choices. Beyond his police responsibilities, he also serves as a high school wrestling coach, passing on his knowledge from his days as a championship wrestler.

Ptl. Griffin also manages the School Crossing Guard Program, which includes overseeing 14 locations and employees. He handles daily staffing adjustments, recruiting, and routinely steps in to cover posts when needed.

In 2025, his dedicated performance was recognized twice through the school superintendent’s “Ring the Bell” program for excellence. Ptl. Griffin consistently represents the Riverside Township Police Department with professionalism and pride.

Patrolman Griffin’s leadership, reliability, and compassion have profoundly strengthened the partnership between the school and the department, leaving a lasting impact on the safety and success of the entire school community.

Congratulations to Patrolman Brendon Griffin!!
