Two Teens Arrested in Early Morning Motor Vehicle Theft
Riverside - Early yesterday morning, at approximately 4 am, Riverside officers responded to a call for a vehicle abandoned in the middle of the roadway along Kossuth St. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle and found it to be disabled with a flat tire. The officers checked the area and located a 15 year old male and a 16 year old male, both from Trenton, NJ, walking along a nearby street. Following the officer’s investigation, it was determined that the juveniles had stolen the vehicle from another part of town and fled on foot after the vehicle struck a curb. The juvenile suspects were found to be in possession of the key to the abandoned vehicle, along with an imitation firearm, several rounds of live ammunition, burglary tools, a knife and other stolen property. Both suspects were taken into custody and transported to the station. During processing, one of the juveniles became disorderly and broke a stationhouse window causing over $500 in damage. Both juveniles were charged and turned over to their parent/guardian after processing.
