Riverside Graduates 18th D.A.R.E. Class!

Last night 104 fifth graders graduated our 18th D.A.R.E. class in the Riverside High School auditorium.  The program started by Cpl. Thomas Coleman in 1995 is now taught by our School Resource Officer, Ptl. Anthony Congemi.  Ptl. Congemi has been in charge of the program for the last 6 years.  Mayor George Conard, Principal Scott Schumway and Lt. David Jaensch were in attendance to present certificates and pins to the proud D.A.R.E. graduates.  During the ceremony one student from each class was recognized for winning an essay contest.  The winners were:

    2. Donnie Stone - Mrs. James
    3. Riley Starke - Ms. Rafters

The students worked very hard during the 17 week class.  The Riverside Police Department is proud of the students and their commitment to resist drugs and violence.  We would like to extend our gratitude to the school's administrators for allowing us to present this very worth while program.  We would also like to thank the fifth grade teachers for sharing their classrooms with Ptl. Congemi.  A special thank you also goes out the members of Riverside School and Family for providing t-shirts to the graduates as well as refreshments after the ceremony.
