Joint Effort Leads To Arrest Of 6 Burglary Suspects

RIVERSIDE PD: JOINT EFFORTS OF 8 LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES LEADS TO ARREST OF 6 INDIVIDUALS IN STRING OF BURGLARIES ACROSS REGION

The Riverside Police Department today announced that the cooperative efforts of 8 law enforcement agencies have yielded the arrest of 6 individuals for a string of at least 14 home burglaries across the Riverfront region during the months of February and March 2014.
The investigation was launched in response to a pattern of daytime burglaries that targeted homes, forcing entry through windows or doors, along the Riverfront in the communities of: Riverside, Delanco, Burlington City, Burlington Township, Riverton, Cinnaminson and Florence. During the investigation it was also found that the suspects also burglarized the communities of Haddonfield and Collingswood which are located along the high speed line in Camden County.
The arrests were a result of collaboration by the following law enforcement agencies in a task force created to address the burglaries: Riverside Police Department, Burlington City Police Department, Burlington Township Police Department, New Jersey Transit Police Department, Haddonfield Police Department, Florence Police Department, and the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office. The task force was organized to allow the participating agencies to combine resources which would help track the suspects, stolen property and share intelligence.
The suspects were tracked by law enforcement surveillance as they traveled between locations throughout the region as well as monitoring pawn shops and bodegas in Camden City and Philadelphia in search of stolen property. It is alleged that the defendants would operate separately to burglarize homes and then meet afterwards in Camden City to sell the items they had stolen, typically jewelry, currency or electronics, which were later sold to finance purchases of Heroin for one another to feed their growing addiction. In some cases individuals arrested claimed to have up to a 20 bag a day habit.

The suspects, who were arrested between March 25 and April 4, are identified as follows:
Jason C. Gale, 32, of Delanco
David P. Endre, 37, of Riverside
Charles Adam Smutny, 39, of Camden
Anthony J. Montgomery, 28, of Palmyra
Kevin David Reeder, 47, or Roebling
David A. Dellavalle, 28, of Camden

Charges against the individuals arrested include: Burglary, Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, Theft, Criminal Mischief, Receiving Stolen Property, and Criminal Attempt.

The investigation of this pattern of burglaries is ongoing and additional charges are expected.

The public is reminded that the above listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of  law.
