Two Women Charged in Residential Burglaries

On Friday morning Riverside Police made two arrests in connection with several burglaries. The first burglary occurred on the 200 Block of Sylvan Street and was reported on August 22nd. The victim stated that she observed a Burger King soda cup in her bedroom that was not hers. After checking her jewelry she noticed numerous items were missing. She provided a description of the items to police.

Over the next couple of weeks the victim provided police the names of possible suspects that had access to her home. Police Detectives discovered one of the suspects, Marina Canzanese, recently sold some of the stolen items to area jewelry stores.   Police responded to the Riverside home of Marina Canzanese on Thursday September 4th but were unable to locate her.

On Friday September 5th Riverside Police responded to a daytime burglary call on the 300 block of Grant Street. The victim received a call from her teenage daughter that someone had been in their home. They reported an XBOX gaming system and 5 games were taken. They also observed a suspicious female walking in front of their home at the time.

On Thursday morning, September 11, Riverside Police responded to the 500 block of Howard Street for the report of another burglary. The victim stated that she observed a dark hair female walking from her property to a nearby apartment belonging to Marina Canzanese.  After entering her home and finding several pieces of jewelry missing she notified police.

Police responded to the home of Marina Canzanese and found her home with her friend Alexis Ryan. During the investigation it was determined that both Canzanese and Ryan entered the home and stole jewelry. It was also found that both suspects entered the same home the day before and took a ring which they sold to obtain heroin.

It was determined that Alexis Ryan was only involved in the Howard Street burglary.

Marina Canzanese, 30 of Riverside, was charged with 3 counts of burglary and theft.

Alexis Ryan, 20 of Delran, was charged with burglary and theft.

Canzanese and Ryan were charged and bail was set at $25,000/ROR.
