Riverside Promotes Three Police Officers

At tonight's Township meeting three officers were sworn in and promoted to new positions.  Detective Ron Brock and Patrolman Amaya Urtasun were promoted to the rank of Sergeant.  Lieutenant H. David Jaensch was promoted to the rank of Captain.


Sergeant Brock is an 11 year veteran of the Riverside Police Department.  Detective Brock is a graduate of the Burlington County Police Academy and Rider University.  He was assigned to the Detecive Bureau in 2008.  Detective Brock is trained in computer forensics and is a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.  In 2010 he was selected as the Department's Officer of the Year.



Sergeant Urtasun is a 14 year veteran of the Riverside Police Department.  Sgt. Urtasun is a graduate of the Burlington County Police Academy and Rutgers University.  She is a certified Emergency Medical Technician and the agency Firearms Instructor.  She was selected in 2009 as the Department's Officer of the Year.  She is the first female Sergeant in the history of the Riverside Police Department.

Captain Jaensch is a 17 year veteran of the Riverside Police Department.  He graduated the New Jersey State Police Academy, Rutgers University, the FBI National Academy, and earned a Graduate Certificate in Criminal Justice Education from the University of Virginia.  He is a patrol supervisor and certified Emergency Medical Technician.  He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2005.  In 2006 he received  the Veterans of Foreign Wars Gold Medal after being selected as the State's Outstanding Lawman of the Year.
