Clothing Drop Off Bins Support Riverside Police Explorers

Recycle your old clothing and shoes, and support the Riverside Police Explorers program at the same time.  The Riverside Police Explorers Post is an organization affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America. The Explorers program is open to youths ages 15-21, many of whom have a desire to pursue a career in law enforcement.  Explorers learn and experience different aspects of law enforcement under the supervision and guidance of members of the Riverside Police Department.

Although they have no law enforcement authority, they often augment the Police Department by assisting with community related functions.   Activities of the Explorers include, but are not limited to, training, ride-alongs, assistance at public events, and community service.

In an effort to maintain the program, the Riverside Police Explorers have sponsored clothing drop bins in three locations throughout town. All the money generated from the bins goes directly to the Explorer Program. There is one drop bin located behind the police station, one in the fire station parking lot, and two located in the rear of Dollar General on Whittaker and Fairview St.   Thanks to businesses like Dollar General and the cooperation of the Riverside Fire Company, the Riverside Police Explorer Program is one of the most successful in the area.  If your business is in a high traffic area and would like to sponsor a bin, please contact:  Patrolman Anthony Cicali.
