Riverside Police Active Shooter Training: 2017

The members of the Riverside Township Police took part today in organized active shooter training. At least once a year, the officers gather together to train and prepare for the violent and chaotic situation of an active shooter. These are situations that are unpredictable and evolve quickly and training is vital to prepare the officers to handle them. All of your Riverside Officers take part in this training. The training combines classroom review of Active Shooter scenarios along with hands on training through the use of airsoft and simunitions weapons.  The overall training plan is developed by Ptl. Cicali and Capt. Jaensch.

We’d like to thank the Riverside Police Explorers for participating as actors in this event. Also, Sgt. Nelson D’Oliveira of the New Jersey State Police, a Krav Maga Instructor, stopped by to give some extra instruction in self-defense against weapons. His instruction was valued and much appreciated!

The Riverside Township Police prepare for these and other situations to continue to provide safety and security to everyone who lives, plays and works in our town. We always appreciate the continued support from our township and our residents.
