Female Charged in Assault with Broken Bottle



On 7/2/17 at 0446hrs, the Riverside Police responded to a "disturbance" call at a residence on Burke St.  Upon arrival, a 41 year old female came running from the residence and fell into the arms of officers.  They observed a severe laceration across her face and she was bleeding profusely.  Officers rendered aid to the victim and then entered the residence to locate a suspect.  Officers from Delran and Delanco responded to assist Riverside officers along with Delran EMS. 

Upon entry to the residence, officers found a chaotic scene with an adult male attempting to restrain a screaming, adult female.  It was found through the investigation that the female being restrained had broken a beer bottle and slashed the other female across the face.  The suspect was identified as Heather Tomlin Pereira, 32 yrs, of Riverside. 

The female victim was immediately transported to the hospital by Delran EMS.  Pereira was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Assault w/ a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, Possession of a Syringe and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  She was lodged at Burlington County Jail pending a court hearing.
