Riverside Police Begin Utilizing Body Worn Cameras

In a continuing effort to provide the most efficient, transparent and professional police services possible the Riverside Township Police Department is pleased to announce the introduction of the AXON 2 Body Worn Camera program.

On September 19th and 20th every member of the Riverside Police Department was trained in the proper procedure for use of the AXON 2 Body Worn Camera. Each member of the Riverside Township Police Department has been assigned an AXON 2 Body Worn Camera and it will become

The Riverside Township Police Department has issued a Standard Operating Procedure that each officer will follow in accordance with the New Jersey Attorney General's Law Enforcement Directive Regarding Police Body Worn Cameras (BWCs) and Stored BWC Recordings # 2015-1, furthermore our Standard Operating Procedure regarding the use of Body Worn Cameras has been reviewed and approved by the Burlington County Prosecutors Office to ensure compliance.

We look forward to using the BWC’s not only to ensure police transparency but to also protect our officers against fraudulent complaints and frivolous lawsuits against the Township of Riverside.
