Riverside – Last Thursday, in the early hours of Thanksgiving morning, Riverside Township Patrol units were on their annual DWI Patrol shift, when they observed a vehicle operating in a reckless manner in the area of St. Mihiel Drive and Chester Avenue.  The Riverside Township officers attempted to stop the vehicle, however the operator of the vehicle sped off, eluding officers.  An investigation ensued, eventually leading to the identification of the operator to be Jayden M. Machado, 18 yrs of Riverside, NJ.

Yesterday, at approximately 5pm, Riverside Township officers attempted to locate Machado, near Lippincott Avenue, to place him under arrest on criminal and traffic charges related to that case.  However, before the officers were able to take him into custody, Machado ran away from them, jumping over fences and running through several yards, resisting his arrest.  A search of the area was conducted and with the assistance of a family member cooperating with officers, Machado eventually turned himself in several hours later.

Machado was processed at the Riverside Township Police Department and lodged at the Burlington County Correction Facility.  He is awaiting a detention hearing on the following charges:

·        Eluding Police
