Two Arrested in Connection with 66 Vehicle Burglaries
The Riverside Township Police have apprehended two
adult males in connection with a string of approximately 66 vehicle burglaries
that occurred within the town over a five-month period. Ashton Stargell,
20, of Cinnaminson, NJ, and Kameron Haynes, 18, of Riverside, NJ, were taken
into custody following an extensive investigation into their alleged criminal
activities from September 2024 through January 2025. The suspects face multiple charges of Theft,
Trespassing, Criminal Mischief, in addition to the 66 counts of Burglary. Both Stargell and Haynes are being lodged at
the Burlington County Correctional Facility, awaiting a detention hearing.
This case highlights a broader trend of
vehicle-related thefts affecting numerous towns across New Jersey. The arrests
of Stargell and Haynes bring the total number of suspects investigated and
charged by Riverside Township Police for vehicle burglaries to at least seven
within the past year. We commend our detectives
and patrol officers for their diligent and thorough investigation leading to
these arrests. We want to thank our residents
for their cooperation, patience, and support throughout the investigations.
In light of these incidents, we urge residents to
continue to take preventive measures:
- Always
lock vehicle doors when parked.
- Remove
valuables from vehicles or keep them out of sight.
- Park
in well-lit areas when possible.
- Report
any suspicious activity to us immediately.
