The Riverside Township Police Department is currently investigating reports of multiple vehicle burglaries that occurred sometime last night into the early morning hours.  The estimated timeframe is between 11 pm and 4:30 am.  The incidents took place in the area of Clay Street and Kossuth Street.  Some of the burglaries involved forced entry to the vehicles resulting in property damage.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the unknown suspect(s) targeted several parked vehicles, breaking windows and damaging door handles to gain entry.   No items have been reported stolen from inside of the vehicles however, we urge residents to remain vigilant and take preventative measures such as removing valuables from vehicles, locking all doors, and parking in well-lit or secure areas whenever possible.
We are asking residents with home security cameras to review their video during this timeframe and report any suspicious activity. Anyone with information related to these incidents is encouraged to contact 856-461-3434 or email detectives@riversidepolicenj.org.  If you witness any of these types of crimes in progress, do not interact with the suspects and immediately contact police by dialing 9-1-1. Riverside Township Detectives are actively investigating this case.
