Patrolman Tosta Honored as "Officer of the Quarter"
Riverside, NJ
The Riverside Township Committee honored Patrolman Kevinn
Tosta this evening with the “Officer of the Quarter” award in recognition of
his exceptional service. Mayor Gary Haman, accompanied by fellow committee
members, presented the award during a ceremony at Township Hall, commending
Patrolman Tosta for his outstanding dedication and commitment to the Riverside
community.
Patrolman Tosta graduated from the Gloucester County Police
Academy in December 2023 and has quickly distinguished himself as a dedicated
and highly valued member of the Riverside Township Police Department. He has consistently demonstrated
professionalism, initiative, and a strong desire to learn.
Notably, Patrolman Tosta is the first Riverside officer
fluent in Portuguese, a skill that has significantly strengthened our
connection with the township’s Portuguese-speaking community. His language
proficiency has been an invaluable resource during calls for service,
investigations, and community outreach efforts, enhancing our communication and
trust between residents and the police department.
In less than two years of service, Patrolman Tosta has
proven his ability to handle complex investigations and communicate effectively
with suspects, witnesses, and residents alike. Over the past quarter, he has
ranked among our top officers in DWI arrests, indictable arrests, case
investigations, motor vehicle stops, and pedestrian contacts. His proactive
approach, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous learning embody the
values of the Riverside Township Police Department.
Patrolman Tosta’s exemplary performance, community
engagement, and dedication to professional growth make him highly deserving of
recognition as Officer of the Quarter for July-September of 2025.
