Riverside Welcomes Newest Officer
Riverside, NJ
The Riverside Township Police welcomed Shane Hess to the ranks of the department this evening, as he was sworn in as a Patrolman at the Riverside Courthouse in front of friends, family, and fellow officers. Hess is scheduled to enter the Camden County Police Academy on April 13th, where he will undergo approximately six months of demanding academic and physical training, including NJ law, physical fitness, defensive tactics, vehicle operations, firearms, managing critical incidents, and more.
Hess is a high school graduate of Harbor Baptist Academy and
attended Rowan College of Burlington County, where he majored in Criminal
Justice. In the fall of 2025, Hess successfully
completed the Riverside Township Police Internship Program.
We are excited to formally welcome Shane as a member of our police department. We wish him great success as he takes on the challenges of police academy training, and we look forward to his future service to our community.
